Sometimes in the stories of our lives there are run-on sentences that exhaust our vocabulary and squeeze the last breaths out of us and steal every last drop from our reserve of energy and strength to go on, throwing us reeling and screaming and aching and gasping and grasping and questioning and bleeding right over the edge into the unknown, and we feel like we've reached the end of all the beauty this story will ever hold and no one- NO.ONE- can explain how or why or when or anything about anything because we all seem to thrive on short-and-sweet; quips, quotes, one-liners, rhymes and reasons; and that makes for confusion when we find ourselves in run-on-sentence-seasons, but really and truly those are the times when we are faced with the best and greatest opportunities to stop and close our lips and be still and trust and KNOW that HE is God and He has got every run-on sentence and every word and line and phrase of these stories of our lives under absolute control.

Run-On Sentences

Yes! We need to let Him put the period where and when He wants. Thanks for the reminder-whit
ReplyDeleteHe is the God of the Word . . . of all the words and sentences of our lives. No matter what kind of run-ons we encounter, may we always say with the Apostle Peter, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the WORDS of eternal life." That we would treasure His words more than our necessary food. They are our nourishment, indeed. In dry seasons or in plenty, we live because of these WORDS of life.
